Orial Innovation – core nuclear fusion technology

We are developing a new groundbreaking technology that solves one of the remaining core problems of nuclear fusion.

We are on the verge of developing a game-changing technology that is a critical component for virtually all nuclear fusion concepts that rely on confining plasma with magnetic fields.

Technology

The most promising path to make nuclear fusion a practical energy source is based on confining hot plasma with strong magnetic fields. There are numerous projects around the world that are actively working on this approach, which includes concepts such as the tokamak, the levitated magnetic dipole, and mirror machines. We are in the process of developing a critical technological component that is applicable to virtually all such concepts.

Initially we are applying our technology to the Levitated Magnetic Dipole (LMD) concept. LMD consists of a circular superconductor that carries a strong current. It generates a strong magnetic field that confines the plasma. The confined plasma, which is the fuel for fusion, surrounds the superconductor completely and it is therefore levitated magnetically, like a Maglev train.

Orial Innovation is a deep tech research-based startup. We have gathered a team that has world leading competence in nuclear fusion and in the LMD concept. It is a multidisciplinary team with competences across multiple fields that are set to make nuclear fusion a practical and affordable energy source. We are on path to solve the remaining core challenge to nuclear fusion.
