Orial Innovation – a nuclear fusion technology company
Our goal is to make fusion a useful energy source by combining the Levitated Magnetic Dipole
with a new groundbreaking technology from Orial Innovation.
MIT and Columbia University showed in a large pioneering experiment that the Levitated Magnetic Dipole has a unique potential to become a useful energy source. They also showed that essentially three challenges remained finalize the concept. Two of these are today in principle solved and in the public domain and the last one – we have solved.
Technology
Our goal is to solve the fusion energy problem by using the Levitated Magnetic Dipole (LMD).
LMD consists of a circular superconductor that carries a strong current. It generates a strong magnetic field that can confine plasma. In essence it is a very strong magnet – an electromagnet.
The confined plasma, which is the fuel for fusion, surrounds the superconductor completely. Therefore, we want to avoid using supports. Instead, we lift (or levitate) the superconductor with a fixed ordinary magnet, like a Maglev train.

Orial Innovation is a deep tech research-based startup. Our team has world leading competence in nuclear fusion and in particular fusion based on the LMD concept. This is both theoretical and practical experimental competence. We have also extensive competence in advanced computer-based simulations, commercializing innovations, and building high-tech companies.
It is a multidisciplinary team with competences across multiple fields that are set to make nuclear fusion a practical and affordable energy source.
